TWO & HALF CORONA KILOS AGO
I knew I had put on a little bit, but I thought it was ok. From 54.5 to 56.5 Kg, I could live with that. At my age to skinny is not good. Actually, I thought I was looked pretty good in the mirror and on selfies from the front!
But ladies, I tell you that when I felt a bit bloated one day – and took a good look at my good self in profile, it was shock treatment! NO, NO, NOOOOOO! What had happened? Belly! Bigger belly than ever before (exept when I was young and pregnant). Dear Gods, the two kilos of fat I had put on, had gone directly to the front center!!
WAKE UP CALL
Blubber, bloody awful blubber. It is not nice when reality kicks in, showing you exactly the result of ignoring the active, feel-good lifestyle you KNOW gives you a good body, enough energy, nice skin. Quarantine, lock down etc. are just bad excuses for downright laziness….
Now I am working on turning the tide and return to normal. Meaning 3 Detox days a week, very careful and healthy 2 days – and 2 relaxing weekend days. It is a tough medicine, but I share it with you! Time to turn the tide?
To get results you must be willing to make an effort for yourself!
Results for YOU – not to please everyone else!
DON`T FEEL SORRY FOR YOURSELF
I know from experience that the road to feeling bloated, fatter and older is to slouch in the sofa, eat comfort foods, drink wine (or sodas…Feeling slightly sorry for ourselves and the unpredictability of Corona rules and regulations.
It is so easy to fill the social gaps with chocolate, chips, crisps (or whatever your weak points are). Don´t do it!!
Scold yourself, kick your own ass, get up – and do an effort to change for the better. Be your own personal coach and trainer. Be tough with your weaker self…
I TELL MY WEAKER SELF IN A STRICT VOICE
-You cannot just listen and look at fitness videos and get stronger and fitter. You have to get up on your feet – and just DO IT. Remember the old cliché, blood, sweat and tears? I don´t go for blood and tears – but sweat I can promise you! It is a sure sign of getting better…
– You cannot eat the way you do if you have a weight problem. It is your eating habits and your passive lifestyle that has resulted in the extra kilos, flab and sag. It might also be that you have followed the wrong advice, skipped from one miracle diet to another – from pills to powder…
– It might simply be that you have eaten just a little bit more that your body can metabolize – and one or two kilos a year has gradually turned into a major problem.
-You cannot go to bed with teeth un brushed and full make-up and expect beautiful, glowing and healthy skin.
GET YOUR BODY & ENERGY BACK
1.Cut down on your portions.
2.Eat more vegetables and foods with lots of fibers.
3.Cut out refined white sugar and all sugary foods and drinks
4.Reduce fats, and use cold pressed oils – not animal fats or margarine.
5.Take 2 – 3 days a week on max 800 calories so the body must use body fat for fuel.
6.Cut out alcohol (or reduce it radically…)
7.Drink lots of water (add lemon, cucumber, ginger root, mint leaves etc. for taste
8.Eat slowly, chew well – it takes time for the brain to register that your tummy is full
9.Do at least 30 minutes of exercise each day
10.Walk more (use your Iphone, Fitbit or similar to register steps, distance, pulse, sleep etc.)
LOOK YOUR BEST: PAMPER SKIN & BODY
In addition, take extra care of your skin. Peel, cleanse, moisturize, nourish… Use face masks and hair masks, do what you can to increase circulation and stimulate the cells. And PLEASE, put on some make-up and look your best every day. It lifts you out of Corona lethargy – and gives you self respect, hope and fighting spirit. I talk from experience!
