Mirror, mirror on the wall – will Corona be the end of us all??

These are certainly the strangest of times… More than a year has gone by in limbo land, where all the nations of the world have been victims of the most vicious and invisible of enemies, the Corona Virus. It has affected us all, much more than we have dared to admit to ourselves. It has made most of us insecure, afraid of the unpredictability – like a roulette of life and death to be quite honest.

I have always been a very optimistic person, actually very inspired by Pollyanna… This year it has been a bit ups and downs. The loss of freedom and control has been the toughest blow, more than the fear of getting infected. But, to look at the bright side: It has forced me – and I am pretty sure – most of us to really think!! Think and reflect over what is really important, what really matters – in a totally new way. It is ot money. success, power, bigger & better, designer outfits and unlimited shopping and champagne. No, no, no…

The virus forced us to realise that material values are of little importance if your health is failing and your freedom is taken away from you. The virus has clearly shown us how small and vulnerable we are when nature takes revenge and tell us: Enough is enough!! Now we have been forced to stop and rethink what on earth we have been doing to destroy our Earth – and gradually ruin life on this planet for short term profit. Once a green, lush and fertile paradise for man and beast. Now? Oceans, lakes, rives, earth and air filled with dangerous garbage and plastic fantastic. More man made pollution in a few decades than from time beginning….

Hopefully, the virus will be the messenger that forces us all to chose a new direction and start to clean up, repair the damages and salvage as much as possible while it is still time. I think the virus is going to mutate and outsmart us until we take real action to turn and start to behave responsibly.

All the extra time we have had on our hands in this Corona era has forced us to think, and hopefully it will result in action.

I think we all realise that the most important thing in life is good health, love, hugs and nearness… Family and friends. Food and shelter. Safety. Work. Freedom, Gratitude….

Living in the now and mindfulness have become more and more important, as the rules and regulations, lock downs and curfews, travel bans etc. etc. have changed more often than we change knickers…. The rules have often been hasty, unfair, with unforeseen consequences and in a way it has led to the poor get poorer and the rich get richer. But I think it has made us realise that life cannot be put on hold… I mean, we cannot think “I will live the good life when I retire”, and work like crazy to save money for old age. It might never come.
