AN APPLE A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY

This old saying has a lot of truth in it. We need to eat fresh fruit and vegetables every day. It is filling, it has lots of fibre, vitamins and minerals that are extremely important for your health, immune system, as well as for your skin, body and energy. If you eat much greener and leaner, you will notice remarkable improvement in the way you look and the way you feel.

YOUR ARE WHAT YOU EAT

The billions of cells in your body are working and renewing themselves 7-24 all your life. They need proper nutrition, fuel, to do their job. The need to work in a clean, toxic free environment so they don´t get damaged. They need plenty of oxygen.

These are the basic needs that you, the sole owner of the body, must meet.

DON´T EAT RUBBISH

If you neglect it, if you feed it with lots of fats, sugars, synthetic additives and prefab foods, it will gradually get more and more problems. Combined with sluggish circulation and more and more toxins it will show all the signs of premature ageing, and health problems will occur – one after the other.

Like any animal on this planet, the better we are fed – the glossier coats we get…

GET RID OF TOXINS

Our modern food industry has changed the nutritional value of most foods in a very short time. Combined with the additives, preservatives, gene manipulated vegetables, growth hormones in meat and chickens, antibiotics and pesticides in food production, food is not what it used to be. The result is that the average person, in just one generation, have several hundred toxins in our body. It has skyrocketed – and it does not stop… The result is an increase in lots of dangerous illnesses. OK, this is a fact. It is also a fact that organic foods are much better for your health, but not always easy to come by. But don´t give up!! Choose your foods wisely, soak fruits and vegetable from the supermarket in water with lots of bicarbonate of soda to get rid of surface toxins and pesticides. 

Be as critical as you can when you shop, and avoid industrial foods, convenience foods and fast foods. Buy the best quality you can afford and eat smaller portions instead of stuffing yourself with cheap and fattening foods.

DETOX, PART OF A NEW LIFESTYLE

Help your body to get rid of the toxins before they do lasting damage. You will find the New You Detox plan in a separate article. Here are the highlights for the weekly Detox day…

  • Drink approx. 1 litre of water daily. Add lemon, lime juice or apple cider vinegar.
  • Eat lots of hard, crunchy vegetables to supply lots of cleansing fibres.
  • Eat lots of grated vegetables and mixed salads
  • Use best quality cold pressed virgin olive oil or coconut oil combined with wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar for dressings
  • Avoid all other foods and drinks (except herbal teas) one day per week

 

BASIC DETOX BODY ROUTINE

Your skin is the largest organ of your body, and vital for getting rid of toxins. To increase the function, you need to stimulate the circulation as well as opening the pores so toxins can escape.

Movement, heat and friction are very important factors to speed up the process, and you can do a lot with simple tools.

  1. Exfoliate/ stimulate with peeling gloves or brush for daily dry massage
  2. DIY Body massage with coconut oil (add essential oils if you like)
  3. Hot & cold showers to increase circulation
  4. Jog, run, skip rope or do anything that makes you sweat out
